Travels In The Scriptorium!!!!!!!!
Something different. Today I was in central Auckland and all of a sudden I really felt like going into a bookstore... and found Paul Austers brand new book 'Travels In The Scriptorium'!! I didn't think it would be out yet but it is!!! Now, if you don't know Paul Auster, you should be really ashamed of yourself and get your ass over at for example Donner (the best bookstore of Rotterdam) and buy one of his books. Or actually, more than one. I really like New York Trilogy, so start off with that one.
'Travels In The Scriptorium' should be the last book you read because it has some characters of former Auster books coming back in an entire new puzzle-with-an-end-you-don't-see-coming-till-it's-there story. Sweetass!!

*ashamed* Never heard of him! And I read soo many books. What kind of genre is it?
And, ehrm, it actually is sweet as. Not ass... I know, I always thought they say that, but our New-Zealandic (?) friends explained it. It is ahort for something like 'sweet as honey'. But all the not natives in my class all thought that is was sweet ass. :D :D

Hey, this is Faab speaking :p
I was in Donner for X-Mas presents, and they had the book, but only in Dutch :(
I read the back cover and it think this book is a kind of an 'career-synopsis' for Auster. Also because of the reappearance of known characters. Maybe there are also some 'Lulu on the Bridge' references, but I don't know yet, cause I'm still waiting for the original version of the book!!! ;)

Still Faab,
Btw, bought the Dutch version of 'Oracle Night' for my mum for X-Mas, I hope she likes it. She's seen 'Smoke' and 'Lulu on the Bridge'. Maybe next I'll buy 'The New York Trilogy' for her. I'm going to convert all the people to the Paul Auster sect!!! :P
